as most people have heard i got the e-mail from the fulbright committee yesterday.
"I am pleased to inform you that the National Screening Committee of the Institute of International Education (IIE) has recommended you for a grant under the Fulbright U.S. Student Program for the academic year 2009-10."
this means that my application has made it past all of the US people and will now be under review in Andorra. Since most likely they have narrowed it down to 6-8 people for the four spots, i'm hoping they won't take until June like some countries can. *sigh*
this week was the first time i really physically saw the payoff from having gone to the gym for so many months. i don't know if it is because i started doing ab stuff, too, or what but i feel good and can actually see definition in my chest, arms, legs and stomach. i still hate going to the gym 6 times a week, but now i know it's been worth it. hurray! hopefully by the time the summer comes around I won't feel like a beached whale at the beach.
last night a bunch us went to JTree for half-priced burgers which is always delicious. i went for the smokehouse, which is stuffed with cheddar, bacon, and barbeque sauce. mmmmm. we drank at my place before going out, with plans to do 90s night at common ground. after waiting in line forever and not moving, we ended up just going to the kells. gross, i know, but we had a good time and you can't beat $2 drafts. the woman at the door that was collecting money told us that the $6 was worth it on account of all the ladies. yes! that was precisely what us 4 gay men and melanie were looking for!
i can't say i feel like getting off the couch again today. i need to work on some phonology shit for my BU course - otherwise i'll be swamped with a ton on Monday night. i'd also like to work in my deutsch via my rosetta stone demo and do some catalan as well.
k bye!
